Video: Rihanna's Russian Roulette Premieres

rihanna
As Rihanna would say, The wait is ova. The music video for “Russian Roulette” has just premiered. This is a very new sound for Rihanna, who usually sticks to upbeat and catchy songs. But with the year she’s had, we’re not surprised her material has gotten a little darker.

The video features Rihanna going through her own personal hell while locked up in an institution. She goes through the thoughts of suicide by pulling the trigger, getting run over by a car, and even drowning.

This really shows off Rihanna’s amazing vocal range, and this is a whole new side of her that she’s showing her fans post-attack.

Rihanna and Chris Brown's Videos Debuting on Same Day

rihanna chris brown
Rihanna just can’t seem to fully separate herself from Chris Brown, no matter how hard she tries. Both singers are set to release music videos on the exact same day.

Rihanna will release her video for “Russian Roulette” from her upcoming album Rated R this Friday on 20/20. And now MTV reports that Chris’ video for “Crawl” will premiere Friday as well.

Chris’ video will air during the Wendy Williams show, with singer Cassie appearing on the track as well. Rihanna was originally supposed to premiere “Russian Roulette” last Friday when she spoke with Diane Sawyer for the first time about her attack. But the video ended up not being done with editing by the time of the taping.

Wonder who’s video will be more well-received? Check back on Hollyscoop.com for both music videos this Friday. Rihanna’s entire album, Rated R, comes out November 23rd, while Chris’ Graffiti doesn’t drop until December 15th.

Chris Brown Doesn't Know Why People Perceive Him Wrong

chris brown
Chris Brown appears as a guest on the Wendy Williams today to talk about how he’s getting on with his life post-Rihanna.

He says he’s tried countless times to apologize for beating up his then-girlfriend, and he just doesn’t understand why people won’t move past it.

"The steps that I’ve taken to show that I’m sorry probably have been perceived wrong," Brown says, “Certain things when I’m doing certain interviews and how my posture is to how I’m acting.”

"At the end of the day, I’m definitely remorseful and it’s not something that I take lightly or think that it’s like under the rug," he goes on. "I really think it’s something that is a serious matter and I’m learning from it."

Chris definitely has a solid group of fans sticking by his side, however. Just yesterday, the New York Post put up a video that showed Chris at a Foot Locker in NYC posing with dozens of fans.

One woman, however, didn’t appreciate Chris getting all of that attention, yelling to him, “F**king beater! You belong in jail. I hope someone beats the f**king crap out of you!"

Do you think Chris has done enough to show his remorse for what he did to Rihanna, or is he trying to move on too soon?

Rihanna Refuses Expensive Gift From Stranger

rihanna
New York Jets' Braylon Edwards was hoping to impress Rihanna when he saw her at an LA nightclub by sending her a very expensive bottle of champagne, but he was left behind disappointed when she sent it back.

The famous football player sent Rihanna a $10,000 bottle while they were both partying at The Bank at Wonderland nightclub in LA, but the songstress quickly sent it back because he was a stranger.

One partygoer said: "She didn't know who they were, so she sent it back."

Edwards didn't let the incident stop him from pursuing her though. After she sent the bottle back, he went over and introduced himself and they chatted for a little bit.

But don't jump to any conclusions, it was just a friendly chat according to onlookers.

So if you ever decide to send Rihanna an expensive drink at a club, consider sending it with a note. El la el ella ay.

Chris Brown to Rihanna: Assault Was a "Private Matter"

rihanna chris brown
After Chris Brown assaulted and publicly humiliated Rihanna, she stayed mum for nine months. She didn't give a single interview, didn't bad mouth him and refused to address the issue. And that's just the way Chris liked it. But now that Rihanna has come forward and given the world details about the night she was assaulted, he's upset with her because he believes it should have been a "private matter."

"While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8," Brown says in a statement to MTV News, "I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us."

We're sure Rihanna would have loved to have kept the photo of her bruised and bloody face private too, but when you're a celebrity, nothing stays private for too long.

During Rihanna's interview with Diane Sawyer, she said Chris put her in a headlock twice and bit her on the ear and fingers. "He had no soul in his eyes," Rihanna said. "He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him."

In his statement today, Brown continued, "I do appreciate [Rihanna's] support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions," he tells MTV.

"At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God."

After all that Rihanna's gone through, Chris really can't be upset with her for telling her side of the story. She spoke out about being abused hoping her message will help save other women who are also in an abusive relationship.

Rihanna on Chris: No Soul In His Eyes

rihanna
More information about the Rihanna interview with Diane Sawyer has come out today. The full video can be seen on 20/20 tonight. But here are some of the awful things Rihanna recounts to Sawyer.

On what was going through her mind during the attack: "When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop? He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked-out. There was no person when I looked at him."

Rihanna confirms the fight began after Chris Brown received a text from another woman after they left a pre-Grammy party. She says, "I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn't tell the truth. And I wouldn't drop it.”

"I couldn't take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it … It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly. I was battered, I was bleeding, I was swollen in my face.”

On her reaction to Chris hitting her: "My next option was to get out of the car and walk, start walking in a gown and a bloody face," she says. "I didn't have a plan. That whole night was not part of my plan."

Rihanna says she finally had to make a decision for herself, and not because of Chris. She says, "The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other, equally dangerous. Because it was a bit of an obsession."

On whether she hates Chris: "No, I don't hate him at all," she says. "I actually love and care about him. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up. And just take this as something you had to go through to grow up and learn."

RIHANNA - RIHANNA IS GLAMOUR'S WOMAN OF THE YEAR

rihanna

R&B star RIHANNA is ending a tumultuous 2009 on a high - she's been named Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year.
The Bajan beauty is bouncing back from her personal turmoil at the start of the year (09) when she was beaten up by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February (09).
She took some time out of the limelight to recover from the brutal attack, which landed Brown a five year probation sentence and community service, but is now preparing to make her chart return with the release of her album Rated R.
Now Rihanna's pop comeback will be topped with the Glamour honour, which will be presented to the singer during an awards ceremony next Monday (09Nov09) at New York's Carnegie Hall.

RIHANNA - RIHANNA WANTS TO HELP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS

rihanna
RIHANNA is determined to use her pop star status to help other women who fall victim to domestic abuse, following her notorious bust-up with ex-boyfriend CHRIS BROWN.
The pop star was thrust into the limelight following the February (09) incident, which left her battered and bruised at the hands of her former lover.
Rihanna kept completely quiet in the press as she recovered, but she's now ready to use the media attention to help other women caught in violent relationships.
She tells America's Glamour magazine, "Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbour know that you fight. It’s one of the things we (women) will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery.
"The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women."
Disgraced singer Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna after a pre-Grammy Awards party and has since been sentenced to community service and five years' probation.

RIHANNA - RIHANNA: 'I'VE NEVER BEEN IN LOVE'

rihanna
Pop star RIHANNA is looking forward to new romances following her failed relationship with disgraced singer CHRIS BROWN - because she has "never been in love".
The 21 year old had been dating the Kiss Kiss hitmaker for a little more than a year when he assaulted her after a pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles in February (09).
Brown has confessed he still has strong feelings for the Bajan beauty, despite a judge ordering him to stay away from her for the next five years.
But Rihanna insists she is now moving on and looking for love once again, and hopes to have settled down in 10 years' time.
She tells America's Glamour magazine, "I hope I find love in the next 10 years - that will be pretty annoying if I am 31 and still have never been in love! But yeah, I'd like to be in a great place in both my personal life and my career. I still want to be doing what I love. Whatever that is in 10 years, I don't know."

RIHANNA - RIHANNA: 'I TURNED INTO BRITNEY AFTER BROWN BEATING'

rihanna
RIHANNA struggled to cope with the overnight surge in media interest after she was beaten by ex-boyfriend CHRIS BROWN, insisting she suddenly became hunted like paparazzi favourite BRITNEY SPEARS.
The Umbrella hitmaker went into hiding after the vicious bust-up in February (09), which left her bloodied and bruised, and landed her ex-lover community service and five years probation for assault.
The singer admits she wasn't expecting to be the subject of so much international press attention.
She tells America's Glamour magazine, "It has taught me so much. I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day. It was like, What, there are helicopters circling my house? There are 100 people in my cul-de-sac? What do you mean, I can’t go back home?"
And she found it difficult to keep quiet after a photo of her injured face, taken after the incident, was allegedly leaked online by police sources.
She adds, "It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was (supposedly leaked by) two women."
Two female cops were suspended in September (09) after the horrifying photo was published on celebrity website TMZ.com shortly after the bust-up.

rihanna

Rihanna found it hard to come to terms with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown assaulting her because he was her first true love.

Rihanna has finally spoken out about the night Chris Brown attacked her, saying it could have happened to anyone.

The 'Umbrella' singer - who was left battered and bruised after her ex-boyfriend assaulted her in February at a pre-Grammys party - knows she isn't the only person to be the victim of domestic abuse.

She said: "This happened to me. It can happen to anyone."

However, the 21-year-old beauty admitted it was hard to come to terms with because of the feelings she had for the 'Run It' singer.

She says in an episode of US TV show 'Good Morning America' due to air on Thursday (05.11.09): "He was definitely my first big love."

Chris recently gave an interview about the assault and spoke of his regret about attacking Rihanna and told how he is trying his best to make amends.

He said: "I'm human. If people feel a certain way, I'm not going to say they're wrong. But it's not right to judge somebody when people make mistakes all the time.

"I've learned from my mistakes and I'm learning from them. And I regret every moment, every second of it."

Chris attacked Rihanna in his car as they left a pre-Grammy Awards party in February, repeatedly punching her in the face and biting her arms.

He pleaded guilty to assault and in August was sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling and five years probation.

The judge also issued a restraining order which requires him to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna for five years.

And now he has a new love interest in photographs obtained by TMZ.com.
In the shots, Brown is spotted having fun with and getting close to Nunn, a contestant in the upcoming season of reality show The Bad Girls Club.
The new couple was spotted out and about at events in recent weeks, the latest being a roller-skating party on 16 October (09).

Heyman insists he is "the owner, operator, and creative force" behind the Extreme Championship Wrestling promotional package.

The disgraced singer pleaded guilty to assaulting the Umbrella hitmaker during a row in February (09), and he has been told to keep his distance as part of his punishment.
But the Kiss Kiss star admits he's still in love with his ex.
Speaking about life after the fight and subsequent legal woes on New York radio station Hot 97 on Wednesday (21Oct09), Brown told DJ Angie Martinez, "We’ve been friends since I was like 15, we got serious when I was, like, 17.
"Feelings are feelings and they don’t go away overnight, especially if you sit down and be like, 'Look, I’m (going to) really be in this relationship with you, past whatever the case, past our busy schedules, past us being two of the biggest artists.' I really care about her."
